I can think of at least 3 of my cases in the past year where gun(s) were removed & either "held by" or "sold to" a parent of someone who was a threat to themselves &/or others.
In at least 2 of these cases the gun was returned & the threatening behavior continued.

The laws need to be more stringent. If his right to own the guns was revoked, the guns should've been destroyed.
I don't know that I agree with that. I do think they should be held by police instead of by a family member or "sold for $1" if someone has a firearm restriction.

Person who returns guns to legally unauthorized person should be charged as accessory. Guns should be sold to a dealer or turned into police. Perhaps local gun club willing to place into locked storage (with full legal responsibility).
