I'm totally fine if this is where my "from away" shows. I can't understand being a public servant but just not giving a fig what people vote for.
I do not think it's appropriate to reign in the process.
Maine voters need to be given more credit for their will. One of the most befuddling things about this state is how disinterested the state legislature seems to be in constituents.

I concur the number count is already burdensome. I can think of benefits and detriments for circular residency requirements. For example, my mom helped gather some signatures for my campaign while visiting. I wouldn't call that nefarious, contrary to intent or public interest.
