I don't have a whole lot in common with Bruce. I prefer flip flops when at all possible, and it's hard to run in those. I pretty passionately disagree with a lot of the laws/policies right now. May I offer you a sample?https://mobile.twitter.com/TiffanyBond/status/966673722823315457 …

@Bwonk_Bwonk is asking whether you denounce Trump directly.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

I did not vote for Trump. My policies, beliefs & priorities do not appear to align with many of his. A lot of my district really likes Trump. We might not agree on that, we do agree on Congress needing fresh blood & dedicated reps. I look for shared goals, ways to work together.

Connor Lamb won in PA because he knew his constituents and knew that he had to take a moderate stance or he would have lost to a madman. Each district has to be closely examined & candidate tailored to that demographic. If Lamb were a far left progressive, he would have lost 1/2

Sounds to me like Tiffany is taking the same approach. Moderate and building bridges. That's how we win - by knowing our 'audience'

I appreciate that compromise and flexibility = good governance. But Democrats have been losing big time due to our civility - a.g., Supreme Court justice, Turtlegate August 2016 (letting Mitch block Russia warning), 2A, etc If we compromise and let Trump reign - we lose it all

Civility and collaboration =/= push over

Playing straw man zingers, eh? Okay. You can advocate tolerance to Trump, Tiffany, or advocate civility, but not both. [Genuflection to Obama, Schiff, and DiFi as models for not sacrificing principles yet effectively collaborating & being tough.]

Compromise and civil discourse in a very red district is the only way you're going to win a seat. Please look at what Connor Lamb did.

My reply to you about Conor yesterday below Again, I do not advocate uncivil discourse - and compromise must be measured. "Trump is okay" is too far in my book. Y'all do you. "March4OurLives" in your moniker but you do not stand by gun reform too avidly?https://twitter.com/Bwonk_Bwonk/status/984181936200527874 …

🆘 Windmill Cancer Survivor 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🌏 @Bwonk_BwonkReplying to @DeepInTheHills @TiffanyBond and 16 othersI'm acutely aware of Conor Lamb's campaign, since he is a neighbor. You don't know if he won because of his enthusiasm for the AR-15 or in spite of it. I know that I felt dirty after that victory, and still do. Incidentally, kudos to Tiffany for standing up for#GunReform1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
I generally do not take positions on individuals, I take positions on policies and actions. That is consistent with me not taking a stance on Trump as an individual. It is virtually impossible to change people. Trump is Trump. Whether I think he is ok or not is irrelevant.

I do take positions on policy and actions because those can be subjectively and objectively measured, evaluated, and collaboratively changed. I focus on where action can happen.

FWIW I find this a more palatable expression It's how DiFi succeeds, I believe. Policies and actions not yet specified, of course, but it should be possible to find 3 with strong bipartisan support. Hopefully I've been good practice.
