I have many clients, friends, colleagues who are really lovely people and identify as Republican. I don't think it's super unusual for a national level platform to not reflect reasonable, prudent behavior seen on a regional level.
You give me hope! The only R colleagues I have are an immigrant who hates gays, a gay who hates immigrants, & a person whose dad worked for Smith & Wesson, convinced Obama & Clinton wanted to outlaw guns. My folks were Rs bc of Ike but quit bc of Goldwater. Thank Goodness.
Maine's CD2 leans red and stay out of our business. The GOP is a wide spectrum here, and we have a ton of Independent voters. Almost every GOP I know is hard-working, kind, and finds a lot of the politics today distasteful. Like every district, we aren't like other places.
