Hogg is a child and a victim of a recent traumatic event...as grown ups in public service there are certainly ways to disagree that are far less petty and show that we have emotional regulation skills.

It's their prerogative to listen if they want. It's his prerogative to talk if he wants. It's possible the companies and/or the child will face social consequences too (for example, employers may wish to hire or not hire hime based on his activism).
