This isn't fascism, it's public service. When you shift roles into a place where you represent more than just yourself, you choose to give up some of your freedom of language.
You don't face criminal charges, but you may face social consequences.

I am prone to swear like the sailor I am married to. Stepping out of my private world into a public sphere, I fully expect that I must limit that behavior. Public service demands leaders generally represent views beyond their own with grace, humility, and kindness.

#mepolitics Ms. Bond, I wonder how you would look at all of this if it was a case, a suit against David Hogg for his personal attack in His attempts to destroy Laura Ingraham's career? I wonder where your commitment to Jurisprudence would lead you?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

It's all free speech? Laura is on a show. She is welcome to express her views on her show at the pleasure of her employer. Advertisers are welcome to buy or not buy depending on how well the show's views, audience, etc fit their target clients, budget, etc.

David is likewise free to express his pleasure or displeasure at Laura's comments, express that to people and/or corporations, etc. As long as none are running afoul on laws that limit speech, they are free to express themselves how they feel appropriate.

...and though all may be free from criminal consequences, none are guaranteed freedom from social consequences, should such exist.
