We have to have a balanced budget. It's law! It's responsible! Our problem is social security/medicare/medicaid. We simply can't repay the $ or contribute more so we'll have to restructure it so it's there later. Some is better than none! Quit whining! Get a job!

When you set up a system to make it so you can't pay, it's very easy to make it look very rational.
Not collecting enough, overspending, then demanding a budget that cuts your moral and legal obligations is crap.

3. Wise enough to do better
We should be fiscally prudent.
We should *not* manufacture a crisis through poor choices, play hero, then blame others.
