Non partisan sounds good... except you face a world of the GOP. 1: Trump, Bush-Cheney, and Nixon. 2: there is the fact you need some kind of way of whittling down the field to 2-3 people. Look at the Lewiston/Maine elections chaos and some GOP nut gets it.
We're headed to ranked choice voting. If people really want a change under that system, the have the freedom to vote for me, and then vote for a party candidate as a back up.

The way things are going, I don't know that we will even have the same political system and caucus options next year.
