This is why I focus on process more than issues a lot of the time. Issues are absolutely important, but if you are just yelling you position at the other side(s), it's unproductive. We *need* to get back to proper process and working together.

What really concerns me is the tug-of-war and wild swings. If we hit a point where we have healthcare for 4-8 years, then don't, then do, then don't, then do...that is really unstable for families. You want to rip up American values? Introduce that uncertainty.

That sort of stress from policy, particularly when rolled across multiple policy points causes fractures in families and society as a whole that are very hard to return from. What we need is a model shift.

We need to treat law from this moment forward as something we change only to improve. Not every single improvement will be loved by all, but it should be palatable. If a proposed law does substantial harm, then no. What's wrong with you? Why would you do that?
