Can we talk about what we want from Congress?
The more I talk to people, the more it seems like there is a great detachment from what the job should be. Here is what I want from #mycongress.

#Mycongress works in DC M-W most weeks, Th-F are blocked off for reading bills and office hours with constituents, back home if possible.#Mycongress doesn't do crazy late-night votes. People who are not well-rested make bad decisions.2 replies 17 retweets 54 likesShow this thread -
#Mycongress doesn't rush bad law. Nothing urgent goes through congress, do it right the first time. Make laws only if it improves existing law.#Mycongress doesn't work weekends. It's a hard job. If you don't reconnect and refresh with family, you forget why you are there.2 replies 11 retweets 46 likesShow this thread -
#Mycongress is not expected to work or campaign every moment of every day, whether or not it's an election season. This is a job that requires balance. We should not reward every waking moment being the job, living like that makes you bad at it.2 replies 9 retweets 34 likesShow this thread -
#Mycongress is not elected based on fundraising at all. We pay attention. We rise people up who should be there. We don't scare people away with the interview process. Elect people without money and money will no longer hold our system hostage.3 replies 19 retweets 48 likesShow this thread -

Until the lobbyists get to them with promises of lucrative future careers.
#Mycongress puts an end to the current system of corporate lobbying.1 reply 3 retweets 7 likes
I would be thrilled if we doubled the pay and cut most of the lobbying $ out. #Mycongress works for the paycheck the people pay, not more lucrative hidden sources.
