It’s not a blue wave or a red wave.
It’s a wave of Americans fed up with partisanship, corruption and money in politics.
And it’s coming.

Proceed with extreme caution with independent candidates. The danger of splitting the vote is very high. Here in Maine, an independent like Angus King can be successful, but unpopular governor LePage could never have won a two-way race.

I think individual candidates like
@TiffanyBond in ME-02 can be successful, but introducing a whole slate seems like the *only* way (other than fraud) that the lunatics stay in power.1 reply 2 retweets 10 likes -

It's regional. Maine can run Independents, we have an I senator. Some places that lean red may have better luck with an I than a D...some GOP is totally functional on a local level. We need to make wise choices. Put forth qualified, electable candidates, regardless of party.

I argue that is you demand minimum competence, which for congress would be: - demonstrated proficiency in reading bills, including ability to understand consequences - transparency in financing - accessibility for constituents - ability to collaborate with others

The negligence we are experiencing in congress is decades of us collectively neglecting our duty as voters. We rewarded an electoral process that greatly divorced the skills from the job interview - the natural consequence is...this.

We need to be better. We need to pay attention to our votes. We need to reward sane, boring, qualified candidates with support. We need to demand media cover competent candidates lacking scandal. We need to stop rewarding the circus. We need to deserve the government we want
