Our congressional districts have 600k+ folks in just Maine. To have any impact they'd need to know exactly who to target and they'd need to spend exponentially more than they do with status quo. They'd create the wealth redistribution they were trying to prevent.
I also think it would be MUCH less compelling with companies driving the bus. How many rando etsy purchased is unilever going to make? It works with wide spread, not narrow focus.
