The disabled person would *want* to show their attempts to rectify the situation. The owner/operator would *not want* to be compelled to show that information, particularly if they are acting in bad faith.

"We have exactly the govt we deserve" strikes me as a bonkers thing to say in this particular moment. I don't feel personally to blame for the electoral college or brazen GOP gerrymandering to cite just 2 examples of structural barriers to getting a govt 'we deserve'

I don't you personally created the electoral college, etc...however, we, collectively, have allowed this system to persist as is. As individuals, we can make choices that collectively add to change.

How do you propose we as individuals repeal the electoral college? What more should I be doing to stop the persistence of gerrymandering in Texas and North Carolina?

No need to repeal, pass a law, through legislature or referendum, that requires electoral delegates vote for the candidate that won the popular vote... some states have already done this.
