We clearly need to tweak our laws. People are getting killed. It's not ok. But we should be collaborating on how to do that. Gun advocates *have* to be a part of the discussion & all sides need to be open to a range of views. The solution is something we haven't come up with yet.
I wish we had health insurance that existed pre-ACA, BUT that health insurance would not exist today if the ACA had not gone in. The market changed. Those plans were going away anyway. The system we have today is ACA, debating years old legislation is wasted energy.

Absent a DeLorean, we start with what we have now as a baseline. How do we make it better? What finds the efficienies and cuts waste while remaining humane? There is a lot we can do, and we should look at the whole system.

For example, let's take some of the $ we spend using jails for treatment and move it into a medical setting where those $ can be used more efficiently.
