If you are in a town losing jobs and need to move to find work, that deduction is gone now too - and at very little impact to the budget, so I guess they just wanted to be jerks in a hard year since a business could write off that very same expense.

I have problems with lots of the deduction changes, many of which are harmful to families (particularly separating families) beyond offset by standard deduction changes. For example, the inexplicable, ill-cited, not particularly logical alimony burden shift.
