I had marketplace health insurance last year. The coverage was so bad and deductibles so high, I didn't go to the doctor at all last year...even when I should have. The ACA is deeply flawed legislation and we should be working to create coverage that is usable.

Weird. We just retired and our ACA coverage this year is $3.00 per month and seems great so far.

There is definitely some good in the ACA, but for self-employed above the income threshold, it's horrible. Our premiums were around $900/mo and even if you went for the "free" well-visit, if you discussed anything the visit was hundreds of dollars.

We didn’t experience that, but we know our country can do better.

I think that's a common response. Those who don't get the subsidies seem to think everyone has this horrible, expensive coverage that is basically catastrophic with a sort of free well visit. Those who have the subsidies feel immense relief, not always understanding the hardship.

The ACA in many ways pits the middle class against the lower middle class, instead of uniting everyone for a solution that works better for all of us. The hyper-partisan politics we have right now takes focus off the collaboration that should be occurring.
