I had marketplace health insurance last year. The coverage was so bad and deductibles so high, I didn't go to the doctor at all last year...even when I should have. The ACA is deeply flawed legislation and we should be working to create coverage that is usable.

I think we ended spending $15-20k last year on medical, and no one was deathly or broken. Few enough sick visits for one hand and my husband turned 40 so a few tests.

Weird. Our ACA coverage has family max annual out of pocket expense at less than $6000. But we do support universal health care/single payer.

I think that's a common response. Those who don't get the subsidies seem to think everyone has this horrible, expensive coverage that is basically catastrophic with a sort of free well visit. Those who have the subsidies feel immense relief, not always understanding the hardship.
