I think mathematically there really isn't an alternative other than to move to either a single payer or universal. The market has lacked effectiveness in cost controls. We have two problems: 1. Transitional logistics 2. Political will Fixing the second will ease the first.

We are so caught up in partisan tug of war that we aren't making incremental improvements. That's a real tragedy. The ACA is a deeply flawed law, the heavily disappointing GOP alternative was worse.
