      Maine's second district is not the runner-up prize. It is not the farm team. It is an actual, real part of the state with amazing residents and its own issues and it deserves someone WHO LIVES HERE representing it.

      Is it easier to get a job in southern Maine? Of course it is. But dang it, if you are going to represent this district you need to understand how hard it is to live here. YOU NEED TO BE HERE.

      And Cherie, I do agree. I would not run in CD2 if we hadn't already been house hunting. The house we live in was purchased for proximity to the law school with an aging car. We have one bathroom. 😂 We've been talking about the move for 4 years, looking for nearing 2.

      Part of why I have been so picky is we *want* to be there and not move again for a long time. My husband and I text real estate listings instead of love notes. If there were someone I felt more qualified who was already there I would not run.

      I love my job. I love my clients. I love family law. I do not love having representatives that do not pay attention to what is happening to the law and having it do actual harm.
