Do you have any idea how
@TiffanyBond would vote on major issues? I've been following#mepolitics all year and I still have no clue.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

For starters: --Is federal tax rate on folks who make $500K a yr too low? What rate would you prefer? Also estate tax. --Do you back expanding Medicare to everyone 50+ yrs old? How would you pay for it? --Do you support a carbon tax? Kerry-Lieberman bill? --Abortion?

1. I do not favor the removal of the AMT. I think that structure of high income earners and company changes made in the recent tax code was a poor choice. There are ways to increase the pie so everyone gets more and we should be focusing on that net gain.

Yeah that's not actually responsive to the question I asked. "--Is federal tax rate on folks who make $500K a yr too low? What rate would you prefer? Also estate tax."

I don't have an answer for you because the answer is "it depends". It depends on how we structure our corporate code. It depends on the overall budget. It depends on what makes the most sense on the priorities in any given year.

Sending legislators that deal in asbolutes on every single issue is a bad way to pick representatives because it forcloses negotiations and the possibility of novel solutions. For example, data might say a good tax scheme might include UBI, which would thoroughly alter the budget

That's a straw man. Ted Kennedy was one of the most productive legislators in US history and he had a strong point of view on the issues. No contradiction btwn knowing what you believe/being candid with voters & forging compromises.

I have strong views on issues. I am open to a wide range of achieving those views. I give *very* specific answers and opinions when I am reading line by line a bill text.
