I am not your Bernie's indie. I'm a moderate independent nerd, family law attorney, mediator mom with too many degrees, student loans and penchant for tea.
I also don't like what it looks like from the outside when you try to jam one ideology into another, and it can't be much nicer on the inside. Both parties have had this with Bernie/Dems and Trump/GOP. So I'm just me. If you like me, vote for me. If you don't, that's cool too.

PS - It's weird to me that it's weird to run as indie. There are more indies than other parties. So many of us don't fit in the boxes.pic.twitter.com/fruZvK67el

I wasn’t challenging you, just curious as to why one would choose to be an Indie. I think there are many moderates in the dem party; Sen Klobuchar for one and she’s well respected on both sides of the aisle.

I didn't take it as a challenge. It's a question I get a lot. The party-affiliated moderate seems increasingly less common. I would not feel genuine approaching a party and trying to bend their standards to my will as a new member. "Hey, I'm a 'X' now, be like me!" Seems tacky.
