Let's make politics fun and community-based, the way they should be.
My 2 January wishes for #ME02:
1. Community: Each person will grab a cup of coffee with someone they don't know &/or have conflict with

2. Campaign: Show off your creativity! I would love to see some great campaign-inspired youtube videos. Make us laugh. Make a music video. Inspire us to work together. You can be a CD2'er for a day and write us a song ;)

For videos, incorporate your favorite #mainething(s). Bring friends.
Out of district? Maine is known for it's hospitality. You can join us #Vacationland-style. Show us how much you love visiting #Maine (or how much you have always wanted to), or our get-along style.

And anyone else should tag in folks they think might be fun. I feel like my pop culture might be a bit dated and I might enjoy more than others doing a rendition of "Move to District 2".

My 4 year old runs around the house signing "alibaba base" - so cute. He'd spontaneously combust if there were a song about his mom.

For many Americans politics can't center "fun" because they've historically had to fight for their lives, literally. Conflict comes when some people refused to ignore this, even when it wasn't directly threatening them. Don't be too dismissive of not-fun politics. It saves lives.

There are a range of ways to be politically engaged. I'm advocating we add back in one that seems to be missing, not eliminating all alternate forms of political engagement.
