Most of the tax pain will not be until after the fall election. Before the fall election, many people will likely see a drop in their withholdings. Lots of people don't like it, me included, but I don't know if that will translate to election impact.

People generally don’t notice modest changes in withholding, especially since other things also change - hours, benefits.

Most of the pain in the bill isn't until 2019+. I don't think it will be as large of a factor as it seems despite the civic action when we get to the fall election.
