Political parties courting independent voters should refrain from defining what their vote “really means”, otherwise you are making it clear from the start that you don’t actually value their voice.

OK. The research says “nearly all,” not all.
This is totally based on anecdotal evidence, but it seems like the swiftest way to lose an independent voter is to tell them you know how they are going to vote.

But you’d think that someone who makes predictions about how a group will behave politically would have interest in research on the political behavior of that group.
