Thing is, an independent candidate splits the vote. We’ve seen the results before. Tiffany should run as a Democrat.

As an unenrolled voter, I couldn't disagree more. I'm only marginally more loyal to the disorganized, uninspiring Ds than I am the bullying Rs. Both parties are disasters right now and of no appeal. Neither speaks to or for me.

So why wouldn’t you want a candidate in one of those parties who does speak to you?

As an independent voter, I'm going to hold someone in higher regard who sticks their neck out for what they believe in, even if it is a tougher road, vs settling to join a system just because people say they are supposed to.

I would further posit we need to get out of this limiting concept that political ideology is a two-dimensional, linear slider between D and R. That you must be closer to one or the other, and therefore should join one. Ideology and beliefs are multidimensional.

Is the goal to get me to not run or to pretend to be a democrat?

This is friendly advice. Think you'd get more publicity and have a higher chance of winning if you don't run indie. You'd be invited to candidate debates and have your ideas spread more.

I understand that and appreciate your point.
Most of the people who will vote for me likely aren't at preliminary debates. I absolutely know my claim on how politics should be is statistically improbable...I have hope that my view transcends conventional politics.
