Thing is, an independent candidate splits the vote. We’ve seen the results before. Tiffany should run as a Democrat.

As an unenrolled voter, I couldn't disagree more. I'm only marginally more loyal to the disorganized, uninspiring Ds than I am the bullying Rs. Both parties are disasters right now and of no appeal. Neither speaks to or for me.

So why wouldn’t you want a candidate in one of those parties who does speak to you?

As an independent voter, I'm going to hold someone in higher regard who sticks their neck out for what they believe in, even if it is a tougher road, vs settling to join a system just because people say they are supposed to.

We don't have two parties because people think this is what is supposed to happen. It's because of our electoral system. This is basic, basic knowledge in political science.
