Thing is, an independent candidate splits the vote. We’ve seen the results before. Tiffany should run as a Democrat.

As an unenrolled voter, I couldn't disagree more. I'm only marginally more loyal to the disorganized, uninspiring Ds than I am the bullying Rs. Both parties are disasters right now and of no appeal. Neither speaks to or for me.

So why wouldn’t you want a candidate in one of those parties who does speak to you?

Here is how it feels as a candidate.. Am I GOP anymore? No, the party changed. I still have an eye on budget, but... Go visit Dems - not really a moderate friendly place, no interest in party line pressure, wouldn't survive a primary from my not left enough views. #mepolitics

sounds like you already tow the party line if you think GOP has ever had anything to do with fiscal responsibility.
