      That's not accurate. The federal government has a place and thing they do well. They also have things they do just ok at, and things they rather suck at. We also have a responsibility to send qualified, competent people to run the fed government.

      The constitution is an amazing document, but was not designed to be able to handle all functions. I think a better argument might be which level of government handles each task most efficiently and effectively. Most school function are handled on a state level.

      I'm a big fan of lower level government in most cases. However, the world is a much more global, much more integrated society than it was when this country was born. There are some states that may need help to be competitive.

          Federal involvement in lower ed has been about destroying public schools and replacing them with charters. No Child Left Behind is exactly about this.
