Going the other direction, I'm interested to see how this turns out. GMI rubs me the wrong way, but if it pans out in reality, it might be worth a look in depressed areas. I can be flexible to new & uncomfortable ideas if there is data.

It's certainly a farther left concept than I usually bite on when it comes to finances, but if the data supports the concept in a healthy economy, it's foolish not to at least investigate. We'll see in a bit over a year how it turned out.
