@TiffanyBond are you familiar with the Pledge of Allegiance or Declaration of Independence? What about politicians views on abortion? All these things are tied to faith.
1. Those aren't attached to a specific church.
2. The legality of abortion is a policy decision, many faiths (including those within the same faith) vary on pro-choice/pro-life, as do those who are atheist or agnostic.

I think it's perfectly fine to have faith & be in politics. However, coming from a position of power has responsibility. Telling your constituents they are not good & can live different then recommending a specific church? That's not good.

I keep my faith private, that's a choice. I don't think elected officials need shy away from discussing their faith as a part of who they are, but I do think we should be sensitive about the role played in the faith of others from the same microphone as policy.
