I'm not a Democrat. I want a democracy any of us can participate in.

The only way to do that is to eliminate the party system.
@mcuban RCV is unfair, it transfers my vote from one candidate to another. That’s 2 or 3 or 4 votes for one person! If I only like one candidate then others get multiple votes and I only get one, how is that fair?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

That's....not how RCV works. You vote once in each round until a candidate reaches 50% of the votes. You have the option to select another candidate if your preferred candidate is no longer available in a round.

Right, that’s how I understand it. Will you vote to reinstate the ACA mandate and make changes to existing legislation instead of repeal and replace?

I've never cared for the ACA mandate. I don't like the concept of being required to pay a private company for the luxury of being alive. However, the current system is built on it. That means the least harm is improving the ACA while developing a replacement.

Voting to raise taxes on the middle class to reinstate the mandate is what a Democrat would do. It makes no sense to spend another ounce of energy on the ACA since it needs replaced. Why not keep the status quo and spend that energy on a replacement?

Because we should be doing regular review and maintenance on existing laws. Maintenance can be as simple as promoting market competition with an option to buy in to Medicaid at market rate.

You say you never cared for the ACA but I think you will vote for the mandate. So, nice try but we see through the disguise. You’re policies are just a D dressed up as an I.

I think in the context of the ACA that issue has already been legislated and is in the Courts...so I'm not quite sure what you are talking about there. And my dude, I have never been a Democrat. I grew up GOP.

This is how the avg voter, like myself, sees it. 1)Biden wants to reinstate the mandate. 2)The senate is the only firewall if he gets elected. 3)You are running for senate 4) You will vote to reinstate I’m sorry, but it’s a deal breaker for conservatives.

I'm not particularly interested in continuing the ACA. I was *furious* with the conservative alternative. They had 7 years to come up with something at least marginally better than the ACA. And they delivered gibberish. What a waste of time for everyone who had waited for it.
