In order to extend outdoor dining season, I am seeing restaurants put up tents and add heaters. I'm sorry but an enclosed tent with heaters is essentially indoor dining or am I missing something?

Propane tower heaters and tents don't mix though. Places who have dealt with them require clearance from combustibles. I never saw them under tents but folks I'm sure will try it. Poof!
If you went out to Media in PA, there was at least 1-2 places with high tenting on back decks that used the heaters, they dropped sides, but it would work open air.

Yes! I designed the architecture tour of Media 20++ years ago. They had some nice spots and you could get there by a really long trolley ride.

The trolley is quite endearing. I love that Italian place with the opera night.
