The other light fixture (same lamp/bulb combo) on the same power strip didn't turn on...but we never use that one. I returned to power on. Alas, this mystery will survive to another day (or power outage).

This happened in Flint. People were told to hit the main circuit breaker in their house because it would cause a surge when it came back on.
