I'm going to need a crowbar to get children out of bed today. The only critter happy to be up is puppy, who gleefully bolted from his crate at the sound of the first nugget of food hitting the bowl, knocking over the recycle in the process. I need tea.https://mobile.twitter.com/TiffanyBond/status/1308656580674625536 …

7 ran up to grab something from his room for morning meeting...and apparenty puppy snuck in while everyone was getting ready and had pooped. 7 stepped in it. Chaos ensued. Much screaming from 7. Impromptu shower. Many "EWHHHHs" Everyone is now back in their learning places.

7 wanted a beanbag chair for school. We do not have a beanbag chair and I am not buying or otherwise acquiring a beanbag chair. 7, ever the industrious child created his own chair with a giant, puffy comforter.pic.twitter.com/RfhkaiQgMW

7 and 9 lobbying that "indigenous people faced centuries of oppression so their weekend should get an extra day with no school" wasn't exactly the take-away I was hoping for from that conversation. Round 2 of age-appropriate discussion of genocide.

Husband and I are engaged in a philosophical debate over the merits of bringing the french doors up from the basement to eliminate the dog having accidents in the upstairs hall. I am pro-french door camp.

Replying to @TiffanyBond
For what it's worth, pups will probably be housebroken in a few months. I got two puppies in late July, and they're mostly there already.

It's not that hard to put these up/take them down. They've been in the basement for a bit after we went through a "breaking the panes" segment of our parenting journey.
