It is with deep disappointment that so far my take away from 2020 is we have neither checks nor balances. We really need to change our government and rebuild it with a few well-placed emergency brakes.

Isn't that only because judges ignore the intent of the northern founders.
It's because a lot of our "rules" aren't actually rules and/or enforceable, they are customs with the consequence of social pressure...not jail, penalty, removal, etc
