Anyone who votes for you might as well vote for Susan Collins. Vote for Sara Gideon.

I still think you are encouraging people to take their eyes off the ball. But fair enough. My apologies.

I'm encouraging people to vote, and many of those people won't vote if they don't have a candidate they identify with.

Are you also encouraging them to indicate a second choice?

One would think it would be the responsibility of the candidate who wants the
#2s to, y'know, make a case for it. However, I regularly do encourage folks to rank everyone they find palatable.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

You are not even on the ballot. Sorry, I don’t think you are doing America or Maine any favors here. Defeating Susan Collins and GOP control of the Senate is of paramount importance. I personally would not rely on ranked voting to save the day.

You are right in that both big party candidates have done a truly horrible job of engaging voters. RCV doesn't save candidates who don't make their case. However, anyone who votes for just me wasn't planning to vote for anyone else and would have no-voted the race.
