I still think you are encouraging people to take their eyes off the ball. But fair enough. My apologies.
I'm encouraging people to vote, and many of those people won't vote if they don't have a candidate they identify with.
Are you also encouraging them to indicate a second choice?
One would think it would be the responsibility of the candidate who wants the #2s to, y'know, make a case for it.
However, I regularly do encourage folks to rank everyone they find palatable.
