      the ones he took were in trial, so he might not get billed as much for them, but I was billed $248k for health care in 2019, and that was mostly due to monoclonal antibodies. Luckily I have insurance, but even so, we all pay for this price gouging premiums.

      This isn't even that abnormal. The scandal isn't that trump "wasted" taxpayer money to get medication. Everyone is entitled to health care. And it should be free at the point of service for all people. The scandal is that this is what health care costs in our country.

      Would you hang someone's life on whether they could pay $3100 for a drug? You're running for senate. How much should people have to pay for a given medication? Because unless that number is 0, there will always be people who can't afford it.

      I don't know what I think the right mix is. I'd like to CBO score a few models, and some services probably should have costs/be extra (for example, many genres of cosmetic surgery). Many countries use hybrid models very successfully.
