That’s really sad. Most people can’t even feed their family for $120 a week. A 1 time payment (that is basically a messed up pandemic 2020 tax day loan) partially pays 1 months rent for me. It’s heartbreaking. I have 2 teen sons. 1 in college and 1 in Hs we still support.

Give Corporate America what they want, throw the unwashed some crumbs. If Washington sent checks on a regular schedule for as long as needed Americans would spend it on goods and services. Corporate America would end up w the $$ but they'd have to work for it. Can't have that.

Federal minimum wage is $7.25. Multiply by 40 hr / week. Multiply by 4 weeks and it's $1,160. Then round up. The reason it's woefully inadequate is that minimum wage is unlivable, and the Bill had no plan for any extended shutdown.

Minimum wage in Maine is $12/hour. The least they could have done was set payments to minimum wage wherever you are and ongoing until your state's stay at home order lifts or there isn't active community transmission in your area, whichever is longer.
