Want to know what a day in the life of a working attorney/candidate is like? Today's plan was to be... Office 8-945 West Bath at 1030 (45 mins from office), quick lunch on the road Portland at 1-430 (near office) Mt. Vernon 615-730 (80 mins from office) #SeeMaineWithTiffany

...except that's not what happened. After hours yesterday I discovered I had not received a scheduling notice, which happens to all of us a handful of times per year. It was for an event in Newport @ 830 am. Someone involved in that case was leaving state. #SeeMaineWithTiffany

Newport was suddenly a higher priority than West Bath because of the move...so I have to make a call at 8 am when court opens to tell the West Bath clerk and beg a phone appearance...except I have to leave way before 8 to get to Newport. #SeeMaineWithTiffany

Sadly, no photos of Newport. It's a truly adorable town. You should visit! I ate warm hard-boiled eggs from Starbucks in the car instead of the highly preferable Chinese food available in Newport. I recommend the opposite. #SeeMaineWithTiffany

Lots of Maine has poor mobile service. We absolutely should fix that! I text my departure to Portland case, which I took the step yesterday to warn about the possibility of being late. I hope and succeed at getting past the dead zone by 1. #SeeMaineWithTiffany

I call in to the mediation and participate by phone until I walk through the door in Portland. I'm a planner so I have a garage pass and employee access, saving me easily 20 minutes. Sit down. Email order to Newport. Mediate. #SeeMaineWithTiffany

Head to Mt. Vernon with another caffeine pit stop. Arrive so very early that I get to grab dinner hooray! Except Mt. Vernon is such a small hamlet that there are no dinner venues. (Seriously though, do not underestimate how gorgeous the waterfront is here) #SeeMaineWithTiffany
