i’m on my way home from work. i’ll respond then.
so @freeradicalfem explained the issue pretty succinctly. but let's look at a few examples.
"'gay' and 'lesbian' are transphobic terms." "lesbians who don't like dick are transphobic." "genitals aren't even relevant to sexual orientation."
see a pattern here?pic.twitter.com/c05UIJ51wz
by the way, these are just a few of the many screencaps of unbelievably awful things spouted by militant trans activists - mostly directed at women, obviously - documented here: https://terfisaslur.com/cotton-ceiling/ every single one of these should horrify you.
here's one targeting gay men, calling us "gynophobes" for not being attracted to female body parts. again, if you gave a single damn about gay people, this should horrify you. the full comic, in all its homophobic glory: http://comics.billroundy.com/?p=1116 pic.twitter.com/YvdnhCLmSR
here's the problem, which should be obvious to anyone who thinks critically for two seconds: trans rhetoric forces us to abandon basic information about sex and sexuality. a woman is a female person. a man is a male person. homosexuality is same-sex attraction.
gay people - especially lesbians, because of how many aggressive heterosexual trans-identified men there are - can't even TALK about their sexuality-specific problems without being called "transphobic," because the basis of sexuality itself - biological sex - is suddenly bigotry.
i will never, ever, EVER subscribe to an ideology that erases the concept of biological sex, and therefore, the concept of sexual orientation itself. i will never stop standing up for lesbians and gay men who are told they're bigots because of their sexuality.
