I am not an antinatalist because my life is intolerable. I am an antinatalist because *all* sentient life is intolerable.

It is hard to hate an indifferent, blind, stupid cosmos. But I give it my best shot anyway.

Every time I awake I am, for the briefest of moments, free of the knowledge of the human predicament. The reassertion of reality comes often before I even open my eyes. I pull aside the covers and begin yet another day.

There is, upon this planet, an almost universally held belief that causes almost endless pain and suffering. It is embedded so deeply within the human psyche that I fear it may never be removed. It is the belief that life and the creation of new life is “worth it”. Beats me.

“He who learns must suffer” - Aeschylus Seeing the world with open eyes reveals a cosmos that is as dark and empty as our imagined selves. Enlightenment is the extinguishing of the flame.

Things appear to be hotting up. The 20s will be rather dramatic. Here is an easy way to decide if now is a good time to have a child. Do you have a compassionate bone in your body? Actually regardless of your answer, it is never a good time to have a child. Hope that helped.

Last night I watched a heavily pregnant comedian cheerily tell us of the imminent horrors of climate change. I didn’t find her funny. Neither should her unborn child.

Hope and Worry are activities we undertake in the Present when thinking about the Future. To many philosophies, these activities are futile and ultimately damaging to our well being. Well.. I Hope that sentient life on this planet is short lived. I Worry that I might be wrong.

And when we look closely at all scientific knowledge meticulously gathered and filtered over the last 500 years, I believe that there is an underlying message that needs heeding. You and all your kin are chaos incarnate. Let that sink in.

I have been giving some serious thought to the arguments presented by those that continue to consume or otherwise make use of animal products to enhance their lives. After serious consideration, I suggest their position boils down to the following. “I don’t give a fuck”

And so for those of us in the northern hemisphere we continue the journey towards “the shortest day of the year”. In fact this is said in error. Days are considerably shorter once you are dead. An eternal solstice.

The struggle to survive, progress, and conquer is all for nothing. We appear to exist in a dream reality where all meaning and purpose is nothing more than an illusion; smoke and mirrors; a deceit.

Some say that at this time of year the veil between the world of the living and that of the dead starts to thin. Some say the dead yearn to walk briefly once more among the living. I say the dead should know better. The living have nothing to offer you. Go home.

We love to praise our species for its superior intellect and reasoning faculties, but any fool can see that in reality we are nothing but lazy, greedy, mentality deranged apes. These traits will propel us into extinction. Clever.

“All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the lord god made them all.” I assume the lord god also made eyeball cancer in children. Maybe that’s praised in a later verse.

Humans often require explicit confrontation with reality before accepting the true nature of things. However, sadly this is often insufficient. A case in point: “Nature is wonderful” (Watches an Impala fight back against a wild dog as its guts fall out) “Circle of life?” Doh!
