When I was growing up, we were taught the stories of people whose inventions and scientific discoveries had expanded the lives of millions of other people. Today, students are being taught to admire those who complain, denounce and demand.

And it is sickening , especially as a parent of school-aged children.

Students are also being taught to tear down everything (including statues of former heroes and ideas no longer in fashion) to make room for the “new ideas” that they are too ignorant to realize have already been tested and abandoned in the past.

People today want to make a difference, admirable for sure, however they also want to be famous, which shows they lack the humility needed to distinguish themselves.

Agree. ‘Taught’ might be a word reserved only for enlightenment and ‘brainwashing’ might be the appropriate word when misguiding.

People are taught that they are entitled to things that they did not create & entitled to things that they did not work for. If you do not get the things that you believe you should have you need to complain...that is a victimhood society.

When I was a kid 60 years ago my heroes were people like Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. I ended up in a carrier making equipment for manufacturing to make products more affordable.
