Outstanding! So once we have a NDA state led 'first' model, panpsychism/mysticism are officially out the window? If that first model flatout rejects AST, are we in a Newton-quantum physics like situation where empiral explanations more bizarre than the bogus claims out there :)?

How do we know phenomenality is a property of integrated global brain states and not a property that is disclosed by integrated global brain states?

Is Consciousness the Self or the mind ? According to eastern philosophy the mind models the external world according to its internal priors while Self/consciousness is the witnessing awareness of the mind. Ego or self is mental content. Brain is the instrument of functioning.

So far reductionist explanations feeble. Even TM acknowledges consciousness as unknown at this point. However TM is the only one I've seen make the reductionist case with credibility. Though some videos, appears he hints there could be something deeper...my cognitive bias maybe.

2/ Your article is very interesting. I think it refers to consciousness as a mental state.

I thought phenomenality (conscious experience) just was the existence of subjective qualitative content, with or without a self-model. Is there phenomenality prior to consciousness? Can it be detected in brains?

Thanks for your email invite. I have forwarded it to a person who may have experienced "pure awareness ". I have not. I observe that I can witness my thoughts,so I am aware of my thoughts. I am not suitable to fill your questionnaire. Regards.

Looking so much forward to reading the paper. My personal „awakening“ has been due to you some years ago,
@ThomasMetzinger! -
Christian I would say the same, though not as fortunate as you. Mr. Metzinger's work flipped the switch for me but the effects sometimes wax/wane. Would you care to suggest any 'acts of volition' :)?
