Absolutely. This article is far-fetched sensationalism. Pseudo-critical fudge. Mindfulness training for attentional control has nothing to do w/ submissiveness or escapism. It's actually supporting attentional focus and decisiveness. The contrary to what is claimed.

I was under the impression that mindfulness, if practised correctly, would increase ones ability to grow aware to ones underlying sense of self and therefore enable one to act according to ones true motifs.

Hence resistance to systemic injustice would not be weakened but would potentially take on a more distilled form. However, this is rather a psychological perspective than a philosophical one, I reckon.
