I’ve corrupted the LLB on my 5s and tether booted NonUI. A corrupt LLB causes an instant hard-DFU when you boot, which saves time as you don’t have to boot to DFU manually from recovery every boot to tether boot into NonUI. TL;DR: I got as close to untethered as checkm8 can get.pic.twitter.com/RELPd7S8q3
If you were to combine this with an rPI running that script and a battery, it would be portable too. NOTE: If you tether boot iOS and lock the device, invalid LLB can cause a disabled LCD until a signed and working LLB is flashed. I did NonUI though, so this may not be an issue.
