But, truth time: for eight years, I published two to four new books a year. That’s probably not a publication rate I’ll ever achieve again.

Hey, everyone—just a bit of an update. My health issues have been worsening, so I’ll probably continue to be largely offline until things turn around. (I’m always trying new treatments. I’m not giving up hope.)

Thanks to those authors for the beautiful words. They've been a real bright spot in a year that's started with a lot of upheaval. My 2020 wish for all of you: lots of beautiful words.

Terry Pratchett said (through character Granny Weatherwax) that sin "is when you treat people as things. ...When people say things are a lot more complicated than that, they means they’re getting worried that they won’t like the truth. People as things, that’s where it starts.”

Courtney gave a lot of her time to RWA over the years to try to make it closer to the kind of organization it ought to be. She could have spent that time writing and earning money. Instead, she gave it to us.

Since the opposite is true, this is where RWA and I part ways. After 12 years, I won't be renewing my membership. I'm withdrawing my entry from the RITA. I won't support an organization that privileges white tears over anti-racism.

I went on a Twitter hiatus because I was sick in body and heart. I still am. But before I poof offline again: #IStandWithCourtney. It takes a lot of bravery to point out racism and white supremacy. I wish her bravery were embraced organizationally.
