The mind thinks, that’s what it does. So in meditation it’s futile to try to clear our minds. Instead allow whatever’s there to be there, without adding or subtracting. Just sit with your own experience. You don’t have to make meditation work. Just show up, breathe, and be aware.

And show your mind that that thought is false (because it creates emotions in you). Now at least you can let that thought go so it doesn't traumatize and harass you again and again.

Hi Tracey. Thank you for your note. In my experience in order to have the sort of constructive awareness, insight and letting go of thoughts that you describe we have to first learn to listen. We need intimacy first to see and understand and then to allow for change. Big hugs.
