A Zen koan says: “Step by step in the dark, if my foot’s not wet it found the stone.” You don’t have to have all the answers, or carry the weight of the world. Just show up, take a step, and see what’s there. And you’re not alone. We’re all in the dark, taking steps together.

Hmmm... are we sure that is a koan? Perhaps it’s a Zen proverb? A koan is a question, to which there is no logical answer. It is meant to take you beyond logic, to a momentous epiphany after a hard struggle. At least that is my understanding of what a koan is.

Hi. Yes it’s a koan. But more important than what it is, or what a koan is, is that this touched you. Let go of the answers and definitions, stumble around in the dark. As another koan says “not knowing is most intimate.” Gaze into the dark - What’s it like to be you? Big hugs.
