@SharonSalzberg taught me “some things just hurt.” I try to remember this when I’m feeling pain and the self-righteous part of me says I shouldn’t be. It’s permission to relax into my humanity, to not argue with my life ... a reminder that it’s okay to not feel okay all the time.

Interestingly, the longer I have practiced this, the less inclined I am to believe or feel that I am not okay if I feel pain in the first place. Beautiful.
